RAUL Jimenez is demanding Fulham continue their scoring spree after last night’s emphatic 5-0 demolition of Nottingham Forest.
The summer signing from Wolves added to his recent first Whites goal at Villa with a brace as Forest were put to the sword in the Cottagers’ biggest win of the season.
Alex Iwobi also helped himself to a brace with the fifth coming late on from Tom Cairney to make it 11 goals in three games for Marco Silva’s side.
And Jimenez says the challenge now is to maintain those high standards with West Ham next up at the Cottage on Sunday.
The attacker told FFC TV: “I’m really happy. I needed this kind of night.
“I’m really happy to score and to score twice in a game is really fantastic for me, so I’m going to keep pushing, keep working to achieve more goals.
“We created a lot of opportunities and I was there in the right place to do it.
“Also, I had the opportunities and I want to keep doing it like this, enjoy playing with the team. I think we have a couple of weeks of playing really good.
“Eleven goals in three games is a really good thing, so we have to continue like this.
“We have to keep going and pushing like this.”
Jimenez was replaced by Carlos Vinicius with 11 minutes remaining and so was denied the opportunity to complete his hat-trick.
But the Mexican accepts the bigger picture with a hectic run of fixtures coming between now and the new year.
He said: “We have to think in the team that we need to rest. We have a lot of games in this month so we have to regulate our effort.
“We have to keep going and be ready for next Sunday.”
Nevertheless, Jimenez still appreciated the applause he received from the fans as he left the pitch.
He added: “It was a nice moment. I heard a little bit of it.
“I was close to the line but I tried to thank them and I would like to continue like this to make them happy.”
Next up are the Hammers in a London derby with Fulham chasing a third straight victory on their own patch.
And Jimenez sees no reason why the Whites can’t deliver in their current run of form.
“It is going to be a tough game, a tough match,” he said.
“But we showed today that we have the team spirit that we need to bring to every match and compete with everyone.
“Three days ago we went to Liverpool, we played really well.
“We didn’t get the result we wanted, but tonight here at home against another kind of team, we did really good I thought.”
