Iwobi close to Fulham switch as Palhinha flies to Munich for talks with German giants

ALEX Iwobi looks set to join Fulham on deadline day but Joao Palhinha is currently heading to Germany for talks with Bayern Munich.

Palhinha’s anticipated departure to the German giants is expected to bring in £55million to the Craven Cottage coffers, with further potential add-ons to follow.

Although reluctant to lose the midfielder, Fulham will at least make a big profit on a player they only signed for £20m from Sporting Lisbon last year.

Palhinha made 37 appearances with the Whites and scored four times, the latest goal coming in last Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Arsenal.

Heading to the Cottage is Everton wideman Iwobi, with the former Arsenal player poised to head back to the capital to link up again with former Toffees boss Marco Silva.

The Nigerian international has only one year left on his contract at Goodison Park and the Toffees are seemingly happy to cash in now for £20m rather than lose Iwobi for nothing next summer.

Fulham are also being linked with Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay and Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

However, any potential bid for McTominay is dependent on Palhinha’s sale to Munich, while Hojbjerg is also a target for Galatasaray and Athletico Madrid.
