QUEENS Park Rangers chief executive Christian Nourry said the club beat a host of Championship sides to the signing of goalkeeper Pierce Charles on loan from Manchester City.
Northern Ireland international Charles, 20, joined City from Sheffield Wednesday last week in a deal that could rise to £10million before moving to Loftus Road for the 2026-27 campaign.
QPR also signed stopper Calum Ward, 25, from Motherwell in an £800,000 move last week.
“We are pleased to announce the arrival of Pierce on a season-long loan,” Nourry said on the club’s website. “Pierce is a player that the club has held a long-term interest in and we are delighted to have the player and his family’s confidence, as well as Manchester City’s, in terms of this being the best environment for him to continue to prosper, having had the pick of Championship clubs to choose from.”
Charles said: “It fits my stage in my career right now.
“With the squad as well, it looks like a promising squad, plenty of young players, and when I played here last season [for Wednesday], the fans showed me how loud and how good the atmosphere can really be.”
