Special event to showcase new artworks
Londoner Louise Howard unveils a whimsical single event art exhibition that highlights her signature fusion of realism and abstraction, brought to life through her nuanced colour palette and masterful use of texture.
The title pays tribute to Louise’s long-time muse, her cat Leonard Cohen, who makes several appearances throughout the collection. His presence, alongside dogs, mice and other members of a whimsical menagerie, adds both intimacy and mischief to the body of work.

Her work focuses mainly on the female image which she delivers in varying fantastical forms and ideations, all laced with an autobiographical undertone.
“I’m drawn to the more unusual aesthetic for the subject matter of my works. The faces I paint may not fit traditional notions of beauty, but to me, they are far more compelling – marked by uniqueness and depth,” she says. “To counterbalance the sometimes solemn, even austere nature of my subjects, I try to introduce moments of levity. These playful elements help soften the heaviness and allow the work to be more visually digestible.”
With a career spanning over a decade, she has exhibited her work internationally in the US, UK and Australia, earning recognition for her emotionally charged and thought-provoking pieces and establishing her as a distinctive voice in the contemporary art world.
Leonard & Co brings together a collection of both new and previously unseen works, featuring Louise’s signature portraits of women alongside a playful cast of animals, including her cat Leonard, the inspiration behind the show’s name.
In support of animal welfare, 10% of all sales on the night will be donated to Jai Dog Rescue, a UK-registered charity working to improve the lives of street dogs in Thailand.
