ALEX Mitchell is set to be confirmed as a Charlton Athletic player next week.
Mitchell, 22, is joining from South London rivals Millwall for an undisclosed fee.
Centre-back Mitchell – who made just one senior appearance for the Lions – has enjoyed successful loan spells at Bromley, Leyton Orient and St Johnstone.
Mitchell made 36 league appearances on loan at Lincoln City last season as the Imps missed out on the League One play-offs on the final day.
Mitchell had a year left on his Lions’ contract but the club are cashing in on the defender, who they signed in 2018.
