Come on a special adventure to help the reindeer fly at Christmas!
Camberwell-based Blue Elephant Theatre is holding a Gala Performance of its Christmas show, Mrs Claus’ List, written by Niamh de Valera and directed by Aaron Blackledge to help raise vital funds for the theatre.
The Gala Performance will take place on Saturday December 7th at 8pm and allows adults a chance to experience the magic and fun of Blue Elephant’s wildly popular annual Christmas shows.
When a young child feels they should be on the ‘Naughty List’, Mrs Claus and Elvie the Elf step in with a lesson in self-worth – and Christmas magic!
This is a brand-new show packed with laughter, joy, and loads of chances to join in. It’s a feel-good story full of festive spirit and a reminder that a little belief goes a long way!
Blue Elephant Theatre is fundraising to continue its work into 2025 as it receives no core funding. Despite financial restraints, it runs a free youth theatre for local children, enriching workshops in primary schools and community play projects for adults. It is currently working on a project to offer more creative opportunities to disabled people, some of which has fed into the creation of Mrs Claus’ List.
Participants, parents and community members are concerned about the future of the Blue Elephant, highlighting how important it is to raise funds for the small but mighty venue. One parent recently said: “We are so lucky to have such a fantastic organisation in the area and hope it will always be there. It is one of the best things in South London!”
