JOSE Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night and despite his Benfica side losing 1-0 to Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea there were more smiles than scowls from the former Blues boss.

Mourinho managed Chelsea from 2005 to 2007 and again from 2013 to 2015. He won three Premier League titles, three League Cups, the FA Cup and Community Shield as he became one of the most beloved bosses in the club’s history.

Last month, Mourinho took over Benfica, with whom he started his managerial career in Portugal in 2000.

Chelsea appointed Mourinho in 2004 after he had won the Uefa cup and the Champions League in successive seasons with Porto.

Ahead of their Champions League game on Tuesday night, Mourinho held his press conference in a packed room.

Afterwards he greeted several journalist who covered his two spells at Stamford Bridge.

Just before exiting the room, Mourinho spotted a staff member who has been with the club for 48 years. Mourinho raised his arms in the air before enveloping press and accreditation officer Theresa Conneely in a warm embrace. The pair exchanged words and a couple of more hugs in the heart-warming scene.
