Trevor and Arthur’s romance is against the law
The Menier Chocolate Factory announced the full cast for Midnight at The Never Get with book, music and lyrics by Academy Award, Golden Globe and Grammy-winner Mark Sonnenblick.
Joining the previously announced Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winner Ben Platt are Gregor Milne and Barry James.
Ben Platt recently starred opposite Rachel Zegler for The Last Five Years 25th Anniversary Concert. (Duke of York’s Theatre), Fiddler on the Roof. Barry James returns to the Menier – he previously appeared in The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ The Musical and Little Shop of Horrors.
1965, New York City. Trevor Copeland and Arthur Brightman’s romance is against the law.
In their secret nightclub act, “Midnight”, they perform love songs in an act of defiance of a world that demands they stay hidden. As tensions rise at the start of a historic movement, Trevor and Arthur are torn between their own surreptitious affair and the oncoming storm of social revolution.
