Police launch appeal after boiling liquid was thrown at a woman in Walworth

Police are appealing for the public’s help after a man threw boiling liquid at a woman in Walworth. 

The Met has released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Officers were called to Walworth Road, near the junction with Carter Place, at 5.37pm on November 10, 2022. 

They established that a man – who was not known to the victim – had thrown boiling liquid at the victim who was taken to hospital. 

Detectives launched an investigation and carried out numerous enquiries including a review of local CCTV cameras.

Detective Chief Inspector Amanda Mawhinney: “We are yet to identify a suspect in connection with this attack, and this will clearly be of concern to the victim. We have now released an image of a man we want to trace who we think could assist our enquiries.

“Anyone who recognises him or has information that could assist us is asked to make contact immediately.”
