Special guests and performances confirmed for Christmas Actually include the Battersea Power Station Community Choir along with hosts Jayde Adams and Sanjeev Bhaskar OBE , Olivier award-winning musical theatre star Miriam-Teak Lee and musical comedy duo Flo & Joan.
A festive feast for the senses curated by Richard Curtis, this witty and enchanting evening will capture all of the fun and laughter of Christmas through a treasure trove of entertainment. Family and friends are invited to come together for the ultimate Christmas variety show with a celebrity line up performing live music, Christmas stories, poetry and comedy. In support of Comic Relief and unfolding against a beautiful backdrop of live illustrations from some of the world’s most well-known artists and illustrators, the evening will feature some of the finest Christmas classics performed by a live band, powerful real-life stories and moving poetry brought to life by the multi-talented cast. With many more surprises to be revealed, in the true spirit of Christmas, the evening would not be complete without some brilliantly terrible Christmas cracker jokes read by celebrities on screen, children’s hilarious letters to Father Christmas and a good old-fashioned singalong.
The Battersea Power Station Community Choir was founder in 2016 and has grown from 14 to over 100 active members between the age of seven and 80 years old. The vision was to create a choir that would bring neighbours together in the ever-changing Battersea landscape, which has the newly restored iconic Battersea Power Station at its heart.
Flo & Joan are the multi-award winning British musical comedy duo, and sisters, Nicola and Rosie Dempsey. Their last show Sweet Release was their fifth full-length show and their most critically and commercially successful show to date.
