ASMIR Begovic admits QPR’s players are enjoying working under Marti Cifuentes after making it three wins on the spin against Hull City today.
Goals either side of the break from Chris Willock and Ilias Chair helped lift the Hoops to within a point of safety, some transformation since Cifuentes was appointed just over a month ago.
QPR have collected 11 points from 18 available under the Spaniard and keeper Begovic says everyone has adapted quickly to life under the new gaffer.
He told BBC London: “Every manager does things differently, there is no doubt about that.
“Everyone has their own spin about how they operate on a daily basis.
“And of course, everyone can see he has come in with some clear ideas, a clear identity, ways he wants things done.
“We’ve grown and taken on board each and every week more.
“There is still a lot of work to go and work to be done, but he has come in in a really positive way and the team has really taken to him.”
It looks like QPR’s terrible home record is finally beginning to improve after today’s win built on the recent 4-2 triumph over Stoke at Loftus Road.
Cifuentes’ side only had 35 percent of the ball against Hull, with Begovic pointing out it shows just how much the Hoops are getting better that they can now emerge victorious despite having less possession.
He said: “What’s happening is there is obviously a bit of a feel-good factor here.
“Confidence is rising and I think we’ve put a lot of good work in over the past few weeks.
“With the manager coming in with his ideas and his way of playing, I think it has really suited the team.
“We are growing as every game goes on.
“Today we probably won in a slightly different way than in the last couple of games, but it is the sign of a better team.
“When you can be resilient, you can suffer together and sometimes come out the other side on the winning side.”
It was back-to-back clean sheets for the QPR stopper after the recent shutout at Preston, although the man in the gloves believes all of the defence must take credit.
Begovic said: “We have a job to do and when called upon it is nice to help the team, but as a defensive unit I think we worked really well.
“The boys in front of me put in a heck of a shift and blocked a lot of shots.
“I think with the boys just coming off the bench you see there is more energy, there is more closing down, making it really difficult for the other team and I think that sort of really goes through the whole squad.
“That’s what obviously breeds a solid base and I think if we as a defensive unit give our forward players (the platform), and (with) the quality they have, they have the chance to win us games and then obviously we will get more wins.”
