An exhibition exploring the natural environment through the medium of wood.

Richard Lawrence and Margaret Higginson are two artists whose work focuses on the environment. Both make sculptures that are carved in wood.

Richard Lawrence’s approach is a contemporary take on the natural environment, work that documents the damage and loss of wilderness and laments that loss.

Margaret Higginson delves into the abstract growth rings of the wood. This highlights both cultural and literal reality of time passing.

The exhibition invites guests to engage with the sculptures through touch as well as sight.
