The Darren Hayman Exhibition

While taking his dog for an evening walk and looking through all the ‘lonely windows’, Darren Hayman was inspired to create a series of night paintings.

‘The idea happened perhaps through feeling envy,’ he says. ‘When you’re out late at night, these squares of light represent people safely at home, which is where you want to be.’

Now the paintings, accompanied by lines of poetry, can be seen in a new book and exhibition. ‘I want people to think about what’s happening behind the windows,’ says the artist. ‘Do these people talk to one another? Are they happy neighbours?’

But I Love You £350

The book Last Dog Walk is available at the exhibition

Darren will also be performing his original songs on July 20th, doors at 6.00 with music from 7-9pm with an opening set by local duo, The Gillies. It will also be the last gig of the season!

Darren will be exhibiting his small oil on canvas board paintings, and all will be for sale.

Artdog London, 23 Brockley Rise, London, SE23 1JG. Dates: July 20th to 30th.
