Tom Robinson fans get down to Blackheath this weekend

If you feel like you’ve been left ‘Up Against the Wall’ or in ‘The Winter of 79’, since you last heard British rocker and BBC Radio 6 broadcaster Tom Robinson live, then head ‘2-4-6-8 Down the Mororway’ (well, along Lee Road) and park yourself at Blackheath Halls, where he and his band are playing his greatest hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond.

The Tom Robinson Band used their voices for good causes too: they were founding members of Rock Against Racism, and Tom himself was one of the first openly gay musicians of his generation.

His 1978 hit ‘Glad to be Gay’ was an anthem of the decade.

At 71, he’s still on the road, so turn up and show your support.

Blackheath Halls, 23 Lee Road, Blackheath, London SE3 9RQ.

Sunday January 14, 8pm.

Admission: £27.
