Where stories become bridges
Mountview’s MA Creative Producers are excited to announce this year’s cohort’ Showcase and Fundraising Campaign View Festival 2025 – A Festival of New Writing.
View Festival is a two-week programme of theatre shows, events, and opportunities to discover each other’s worlds through the lens of theatre, in the heart of Peckham.
Delving into the theme of communities and storytelling we invite the audiences to step into twelve different perspectives — questioning, empathising, and reimagining the world around us. View Festival is a place where stories become bridges, and where we build community through the lens of theatre.
Created under the supervision of course leader, Dawn Ingleson, View Festival is a chance to learn about the work of the MA Creative Producers, and an opportunity to meet this year’s cohort through their ideas, values, and visions for the future of the theatre industry.
From Wednesday 18th June 2025 to Saturday 28th June 2025, View Festival presents two shows a day over the run of two weeks and on the Super Saturdays you can attend all the performances of the week, with additional community-oriented opportunities, special events, and a space where to have a picnic, listen to music and be together.
Despite national efforts to increase the accessibility of the arts, young creatives continuously struggle to enter the industry with confidence and financial stability. For this reason, we decided to link this year’s festival to a fundraising campaign for the Mountview Scholarship Fund, offering an opportunity to pay it forward.
In 2024, more students declined their places at Mountview on financial grounds than ever before. Young people should not be forced to give up on higher education in their chosen industry only due to financial hardship.
Mountview’s Scholarship Fund brings down financial barriers and actively contributes to making the industry more diverse, inclusive and representative of its audience.
Mountview – Backstage Theatre, 120 Peckham Hill St, London SE15 5JT from 18th – 28th June.
