There is a new project taking place at The Omnibus Theatre on 21st June as part of its international tour across Portugal, UK, Bulgaria, and the Netherlands.

Directed by Aura, “Trans*Performativity” proposes the intersection between artistic research and practice, digital and physical elements, and the trans community and society, based on the premise of how to transpose our experience as trans people into a work with an artistic, cultural and social impact.

In response to the increase in hate speech, violence and misinformation in relation to the trans community, Aura has created a unique project with the support of trans and cis professionals in the sector and partner institutions, in order to establish a constant and strengthening dialogue between people of different genders, ethnicities and backgrounds, so that we can move towards a more fair, inclusive and tolerant world.

“Trans*Performativity” is an innovative project, designed by trans people for everyone, which promises to diversify and decolonise the artistic and cultural field, with the inherent support of the artistic and technical team, partner entities and the audience.

Aura (1997, Porto-London) is a transdisciplinary artist interested in identity and sustainability issues and co-founder of Asterisco, a space and platform for underrepresented artists.
