More than 40 roads in Sutton could soon have a 20mph speed limit.
Sutton Council was asking locals what they think of plans to reduce speeds in the Morton Gardens area of Wallington.
The council said lower speed limits would reduce the risk of accidents.
The proposed zone covers the streets bounded by the railway line running between Manor Road and Plough Lane.
The consultation read: “Sutton Council has received concerns from ward councillors and members of the public regarding speeding issues in the Morton Gardens are shown below.
“The aim of the proposal is to reduce the risk of personal injury accidents, provide a safer environment for vulnerable road users, and encourage walking and cycling in the area.”
It follows similar schemes for 20mph zones in Sutton going to consultation earlier this year.
These were for the Kimpton Industrial Park area in West Sutton and the Park Lane area in Cheam.
