AFC Wimbledon will host Chelsea if they can overcome the mammoth task of beating Newcastle United in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Wimbledon are the only club from outside the top two divisions still in the draw for the fourth round.

The Dons were due to host Eddie Howe’s side on Tuesday but their Plough Lane pitch was ruined by flooding last weekend.

The game will be played at St James’ Park next Tuesday.

Chelsea got through by defeating Barrow 5-0 with Christopher Nkunku scoring a hat-trick and Pedro Neto getting his first Blues goal.

Wimbledon put in a brilliant display at Stamford Bridge last season before losing 2-1 in the second round.

Holders Liverpool will travel to Brighton & Hove Albion while Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City – who have won four League Cup titles under the Catalan – go to Tottenham Hotspur.
