MILLWALL Lionesses resumed competitive action this year with a thumping 6-2 win against Sutton United to book their place in the quarter-finals of the London & South East Regional Women’s League Cup at St Paul’s last weekend.

Substitute Maizi Garwood scored a hat-trick, with Shannan Drewe, Maisie Joyce and Clementine Young also on target.

The Lionesses had to spectacularly come from two goals down after Holly Talbut-Smith and Chloe Francis had appeared to put the visitors in command.

Alex Russell and Adam Rowland’s side only equalised in the 72nd minute when Garwood scored from the spot and then she made it 3-2 four minutes later.

Millwall added three more late on, with Garwood completing her treble in the 98th minute.

Dulwich Hamlet Women are also through to the last eight after goals from Summer Roberts, Lily Price, Martha Goddard and Angel Reid helped them to a comfortable 4-1 win against Ashford United at Champion Hill.

Both sides are back in L&SERWFL Premier Division action this Sunday as the Lionesses host Ebbsfleet United at 1.30pm.

The Hamlet are at home against Dartford at 2pm.
