FORMER Millwall head coach Joe Edwards has joined new Coventry City boss Frank Lampard’s backroom team.
Former Derby County, Chelsea and Everton manager Lampard has signed a two-and-a-half year deal to replace Mark Robbins, who was sacked earlier this month.
Edwards, 38, was appointed to his first senior club head coach role in November 2023 when Millwall hired him to replace Gary Rowett. But despite beating Sheffield Wednesday 4-0 at Hillsborough in his first game, he was sacked eighteen matches later after four victories, four draws and eleven defeats.
Edwards was assistant manager to Lampard at Chelsea and Everton and also had a stint in charge of England under-20s.
Coventry host Cardiff City this Saturday and then face Millwall at The Den the following weekend.
