WOLVERHAMPTON Wanderers have rejected Millwall’s bid for Luke Cundle.
The Lions want the 22-year-old midfielder to boost their creative options after selling Romain Esse to Crystal Palace for a fee potentially rising to £14.5million.
Millwall loaned key attacker Zian Flemming to Burnley in the summer with an obligation to buy for £7million.
Former Lions boss Neil Harris felt the club didn’t replace Flemming, who has scored eight goals in 200 appearances for the Clarets.
Esse, with five goals, is still Millwall’s joint top-scorer this season. The Lions are the joint second-lowest scorers with 26 goals in 27 games in the Championship.
The Express & Star are reporting that Millwall’s bid for Cundle has been turned down.
Cundle came through the Wolves youth system and has made seven first-team appearances.
Cundle scored three goals in 34 games on loan at Swansea City 2022-23.
He made 27 appearances in a spell at Plymouth Argyle in the first half of last season, scoring five times.
Cundle then went to Stoke City where he scored two goals in sixteen Championship games.
