MARTI Cifuentes wants his Queens Park Rangers side to “move on quickly” after their 3-0 defeat to Swansea City on Boxing Day.
QPR were 3-0 down after 33 minutes, a jolt to the system after they hadn’t lost any of their previous seven games.
The Hoops travel to Norwich City on Sunday.
“Swansea was one of those days,” Cifuentes said. “It was a difficult game from the start and we were not at the level the game demanded, especially in the beginning.
“Now we must move on quickly, we need to make sure we put on a better performance against Norwich.
“We knew that this run would be over and unfortunately it was over in a bad way and a way that we didn’t want it to happen, but good teams react to defeats like this one. And that’s what we need to prove – that it was not just good luck, it was effort as a team and progress as a team.
“Now we need to show this progress through a performance that must be better because we know that Norwich is a good team, and we know it is going to be a game where we will need to improve some areas of our game.
“The players are disappointed but this team has shown that we can respond.
“It’s the worst feeling when you lose a game in that manner, you want to give your fans a day to remember.
“So the determination is there to give something back on Sunday. We’re looking forward to giving a better account of ourselves.”
QPR beat the Canaries 3-0 at Loftus Road on December 7.
“That was a good game for us and we need to try to produce a similar performance,” Cifuentes said.
“It will obviously be a different test and we need to be ready for that.
“We are a team that is still learning, day-by-day and it is my job to maximise performances.
“There is no doubt about the effort and commitment of the team. The attitude is strong and the players are ready to respond and show what they can do.”
