QUEENS Park Rangers continued their outstanding run of form with a 2-1 win at Hull City on Tuesday night – their fourth consecutive Championship victory.

After a goalless first half, Kenneth Paal gave Marti Cifuentes’ side the lead in the 64th minute with his first goal of the season.

Substitute Koki Saito also got off the mark for the campaign when he added the second six minutes later, before Joe Gelhardt scored in the 84th minute.

But QPR weren’t going to be denied and they have now lost only one of their last twelve league games.

The R’s have remarkably gone from last place in the table in November to ninth, four points off the top six.

“It was a difficult pitch to play football on, against a team who have improved a lot and are difficult to play against,” Cifuentes said.

“But the guys are working with a togetherness that makes things very difficult for me [to pick a team].

“Credit to the subs. They are putting me in a difficult situation in the week because everybody is training at a high level.

“We spoke before the game about how, in a week like this where we’ve been away to Plymouth and away to Hull, the contribution of the players not starting will be very important.

“We understood the game very well. The way Hull press and the way they set up, you need to find the right way to build up and not get punished.”

QPR host Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday at 3pm.
