GEORGE Dobson has pulled out of a move to Hungarian side Fehérvár FC.

Midfielder Dobson, 26, signed a pre-contract agreement with the Nemzeti Bajnokság I club in February with his Charlton Athletic contract expiring on June 30.

Dobson made 48 appearances and scored four goals in all competitions last season as he helped Nathan Jones’s side comfortably avoid relegation from League One.

Dobson played 144 times for the Addicks after joining from Sunderland in the summer of 2021.

At the request of the English midfielder, our club will not implement his contract valid from July 1,” Fehérvár said on their website.

“Our club signed a preliminary contract with George Dobson in February, however, citing personal reasons, the English midfielder requested that we not implement his contract valid from the first of July.

“Our club accepted the player’s request, so Dobson will not join our team’s preparations.

“Of course, we are constantly working to strengthen the squad, if an agreement is reached with a new player, we will be the first to inform our fans on our official platforms.”

Dobson is now a free agent.
