MILLWALL’S Femi Azeez scored twice on his debut for Nigeria to help the Super Eagles defeat Zimbabwe 2-0 in an international friendly tournament semi-final at The Valley in Charlton on Tuesday.

Azeez opened the scoring when he fired into the bottom corner from the edge of the box in the fifth minute.

The Lions winger doubled the advantage from Terem Moffi’s cross with a six-yard finish.

Azeez grew up in Northwood and has a Nigerian father and Spanish mother.

The former Reading attacker scored eleven goals and registered eight assists last season as Alex Neil’s Millwall qualified for the Championship play-offs where they lost 2-0 on aggregate to Hull City.

Azeez was the subject of a bid worth around £15million from Ipswich Town last January. The Tractor Boys could reignite their interest after their promotion back to the Premier League.

Nigeria will play the winners between India and Jamaica in the Unity Cup final at The Valley this Saturday.
